Discount Tire Company/America’s Tire Company (a great place to find Goodyear Tires) announced today the release of an innovative new applDiscount Tiresication on their website, www.tires.com. Known as the “Interactive Wheel System,” this progression in eCommerce provides customers with a cutting-edge method of previewing wheels. The Interactive Wheel System can be accessed directly at http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/interactive.do

We recently had the opportunity to interview Discount Tire Company about the launch of their new system. Look at the answers to our questions from Mike Bolland, eBusiness Manager at Discount Tires:
Q: How long was the Interactive Wheel System in development?

A: The development time was roughly three months. The short turnaround can be attributed to the fact we already had the vehicle illustrations. Those were created for a legacy system we no longer use.

Q: What future enhancements are envisioned to the Interactive Wheel System?

A: Future enhancements may include the ability to raise or lower the vehicle. But we are hoping the next phase of enhancements will be powered by user feedback. We look at feedback on all items on our site and create enhancements based on user recommendations.

Car Hire with Argus Rentals

Renting autos is never an easy thing.  There is always loads of paperwork and the process can be confusing.  Throw on top of that all of the issues of hidden costs and added fees and you have a complete mess when it comes to cars for hire.   For Americans, this becomes all compounded if you want to hire a car in Europe.  To clear up this situation you should go to Argus Rentals. Argus

Argus Rentals has been around since 1959 providing amazing customer service and a quality fleet.  On top of this, they are able to accomplish all of this for low rates.  Their Web site is efficient and easy to navigate and provides online reservations.  So if you needed a car hire in Geneva they have efficient rates on a variety of cars from their fleet.  So for a test of the site, we decided to look at our upcoming European vacation and see if we could book all of our car rentals.   We started with our car hire in Austria and found a great Volvo sedan at an affordable daily rate.  After that we needed a new car for our time in Italy so we looked at a car hire in Italy.  Once again, a great full size car was available for our four days in the Italian countryside.

Argus Rentals is a great site and company to deal with.  They make the hassle of European car rentals disappear.

Compare the Fuel Economy Ratings of Craigslist Cars

By admin October 9, 2007 9:04 am

Introducing a new (free) web site called the Fuel Economy Database (http://fueleconomy.weblite.ca) that offers searchable fuel economy ratings as well as related Craigslist ads, so that consumers can do all of their shopping and comparisons in one place. The Fuel Economy Database was developed by Web Lite Solutions, a company that specializes in web based information system design, in response to the search habits of car consumers. North Americans are becoming increasingly environmentally conscious in recent years due to the threat of global warming and the rising price of gasoline, so the fuel economy ratings of prospective vehicles are of utmost importance.

Web Lite noticed that users were often keeping two browser windows open at a time when doing car shopping: one window on Craigslist, and the other on fueleconomy.gov (or some other site that provides fuel economy ratings), so they decided to merge the two into one tool so that users could browse the classifieds and see the fuel economy ratings of the cars for sale right on the same page.

The Fuel Economy Database allows user to search for cars by make, model, power, and gas mileage as well as several other characteristics. For those who like to make their own spreadsheets, it allows users to export their search results as an Excel spreadsheet or as XML.
