Hats Off for Andretti

If you know racing, then you know Mario Andretti. Andretti was the only race car driver ever to win all professional race car events: the Indy 500, the Daytona 500, and the Formula One Driver’s Championship. On November 12th, he was honored for his incredible achievements at the location of a brand new race-car museum in Philadelphia. EV Coming In 2010/2012?

Here’s a big tidbit of news that is somewhat promising to you consumers out there. Nissan is currently producing and planning to release a completely electricity operated automobile by 2010. The auto will be powered completely by lithium-ion rechargeable batteries (24 cells; 4 batteries each), and will take about eight hours total for a complete recharge. The auto is speculated to have a daily mileage range of 100 miles and a top speed of 75 miles per hour.

As the economy drops lower and lower, manufacturers of many different kinds of products have begun to cut budgets and stop production on some of the lesser, non-selling models they release. This especially includes the automotive industry, which has lost a considerable amount of its sales and profit due to the falling economy.
