Is it just me? Tell me if it's just me, but I've about had my fill of the new restart policy in NASCAR already.
Nine weeks into the 2010 season, more than half of the Sprint Cup races have featured a crash (or crashes) that set up a late restart (or restarts) leading to a green-white-checkered situation. Talladega gave us not one, not two, but three green-white-checkered restarts. That might be good for the voyeuristic thrill-junkies who like to see multiple race cars smash into each other at 200 mph. It isn't so good for racing purists who want to see

Better late than never. After a soggy weekend in Texas, Sunday's Sprint Cup race was run Monday afternoon, finishing just in time to start Saturday's Nationwide series race on Monday evening. You've got to love this sport with its total dependence on the weather and rigid schedule.
The extra day of rest suited Denny Hamlin and his surgically repaired knee as he claimed the checkered flag at Texas Monday afternoon. Why did Hamlin win? Because Jimmie Johnson didn't. Why didn't Jimmie Johnson win? Because Johnson got into a little fender bender with teammate and mentor Jeff Gordon. I have a

Recently, a Wasabi Ventures portfolio company, Etherpad, was acquired by Google. As part of the acquisition, the engineering team had to move to Australia from San Francisco to join the Google Wave development team. This was exciting times for the young engineering team, but one of the things they had to figure out was how to ship their cars to Australia. One of the engineers even had an antique Chevy that he wanted to bring with him. One great service that handles just such a thing is Buy and Ship International (BASI). There are many regulations, red tape, and

And that was it, really. Same song, different verse all season long (so far, we're only 7 weeks into this thing). A crash late in the race sends the leaders into pit row, where a pitting decision played a major role in the final all-out sprint to the finish. That could be the generic description for three or four of the races so far in

No Sprint Cup race this week. Jimmie Johnson couldn't add to his points lead over the weekend. But fortunately for us a week without a Sprint Cup race does not mean a week without NASCAR.
Kevin Harvick won the race, after coming in second Friday night in the truck series. That's a pretty good weekend for any driver. For the second week in a row, the crew chiefs were front and center as the deciding factor in the race. Late in the running, Harvick took just two tires while many of the other leaders took four. The second shaved off the
