Do you have pictures of gorgeous sports cars all over your walls or decorating your office area? Then listen up, because you’ll love this.

Rinspeed, auto designer of some of the most beautiful concept cars in existence, has recently announced a new line of art up for grabs. The canvas style prints will come in all shapes and sizes and feature some of the most unique concept designs offered by the manufacturer.

The prints will be available in five different collections, originating from five different concept cars: the iChange, the sQuba, the eXasis, the zaZen and the Bedouin concept designs. Additional art will be offered to fans of E2 Fiat concept cars and their new models, which fall under a unique “Futurism” concept.

All prints will include art paper stretched onto canvas, fully protected by plexiglass, and each art piece will be available in different sizes. As always, to commemorate the release, Rinspeed is offering limited and collector’s edition versions with a special water-mark symbol on the back, which will allow art dealers to verify the authenticity of the prints.

Rinspeed is very well known for unique concept designs, such as the revolutionary iChange, which is a space module shaped auto that has no doors included in the body structure (it slightly resembles the exterior of a Maserati). Other unique concept designs include the Senso convertible type vehicle, the Splash water/land vehicle, the Presto electric vehicle and the Rone single manned sports auto.

Everyone loves to rock ‘n roll, or rap, on the road. But do you ever stop and wonder what kind of vehicles some of those band members drove around with all their money and fame?

What did Elvis rock ‘n roll in back in the day? What about Miley Cyrus or the Jonas Brothers?

The ‘Rock Stars’ Cars and Guitars 2′ exhibit opens up May 16 at the Henry Ford museum in Dearborn, Michigan and will run until September 7. As it’s the sequel, the return exhibit used the original Rock Stars’ Cars and Guitars’ success to boost the featured memorabilia and now offers more.

Because of the first show’s success more rock artists were willing to donate “artifacts” for display.

Tom Varitek, senior manager of the Henry Ford Museum commented, “We literally have all 60 years of rock ’n’ roll represented.”

Some of the “artifacts” or vehicles on display include Janis Joplin’s 1965 Porsche, Miley Cyrus’s 2008 smart car (which debuted on the Nickelodean Kids’ Choice Awards), Mike Ness’ (of Total Distortion) 1940 Ford Coupe and 1964 Gretsch guitar side by side, Sheryl Crow’s Ford Mustang Fastback, Elvis Presley’s Custom Cadillac Eldorado coupe, James Hetfield’s 1953 purple Buick Skylark and many more.

Several other rock-related items, including costumes, guitars and even Alice Cooper’s stage-featured Guillotine, are on exclusive display for visitors.

Tickets for the Henry Ford museum start at $15.00 for adults and $11.00 for youth (5-12), children under 5 years old are always free. Of course, if you don’t live nearby, you’ll have to check out your local plane ticket listings.

Additional special events includeperforming artists: Hot Rocks (a Rolling Stones cover band), Wanda Jackson, rock comedian Charles Phoenix, and artist Mark Arminski’s poster art (which was used for many famous musician’s cd covers- Grateful Dead, Black Crowes).

There were many different cars unveiled at the New York auto show on April 7, but one of the most attractive was definitely the brand new Ferrari.

The Ferrari 599XX and 599GTB Fiorano were on display in the Ferrari showroom.

The 599XX is tuned completely for use on a race track, meaning nothing included in the auto is street legal. The 599XX has a recorded Fiorano lap time of 1 minute and 17 seconds flat. This baby also tops out at 700 horsepower and 9000RPMs. The unique race tuning means lighter body design and hardware, including a unique crankshaft, a lighter engine, and a special lightweight frame design. A tuned gearbox means the auto will shift in a speedy 60 milliseconds, adding less time shifting gears and more time accelerating on the track.

The 599GTB with the included GTE (Gran Turismo Evoluzione) package includes the souped up V12 engine, which alone adds about $25,000 to the price tag because of the added power.

Both Ferrari versions, including the new California, are not due for release until June 2008 but were available for showing in all rooms in North America.

No, we’re not talking about someone dying because of the terrible global economic state- the 2010 British motor show officially has been canceled.

The show, which returns every other year, was set to be held in London where it has been for the past 3 years. However, due to economic constraints the event will not be held for at least this year, and there’s no telling when it will again take place.

Paul Everitt, chief executive of the United Kingdom’s Society of Motor Manufacturers and traders commented.

“The British International Motor Show is the U.K.’s largest consumer exhibition, hugely popular with the public, and has been attracting increasing numbers of visitors over recent years, making the decision to cancel the 2010 show an extremely difficult one. However, the global credit crunch has placed the automotive sector under unique pressure and has created a level of uncertainty that deters manufacturers from committing to large-scale, international events.”

The International British Motor Show just last year included the unveiling and display of 12 brand new vehicles, all of substantial automotive importance. Some of those models revealed include the Lotus Eagle and Evora, the Opel and Vauxhall Insignia, the Hyundai Genesis and the Bentley Flying Spur Speed. In years prior the British motor show was not necessarily very important in the automotive world, but it has been gaining much more popularity. This is the exact reason it was moved to London, as more auto companies began to show off and unveil concept cars as the event grew in fame.

It’s a shame that the recent economic downfall has hindered yet another great establishment on the rise and caused the cancellation of the show. Hopefully it will return on schedule, the year after.

Elvis Presley loved muscle cars.

It was believed that “The King” owned a 1971 Plymouth Barracuda, which was going to be auctioned off in Texas at the Dan Kruse-Leake Collector Car Show and Auction.

The Barracuda is outlined in a fine yellow finish that is complimented by a black arrow design on the rear. The entire auto was in mint condition already but has been touched up by professionals before it will be auctioned off.

Auctioneers believed that the car was previously owned by Elvis Aaron Presley because it had a matching title and VIN number made out to the one and only. Clouded in suspicion, the same auctioneers began searching a little deeper for proof. Unfortunately they soon realized that the title was a complete fake because instead of the nine standard digits it only has eight.

It is still unclear where the fraudulent title came from, or who fabricated it, but rumors have spread that an auto mechanic found the title between the carpet and the floor.

Jennifer Tetley, a spokeswoman for the Texas auction, commented on the Barracuda happenings, “We had done everything we could on our end. . . . We definitely don’t want to mislead anyone”.

Instead of being labeled as Elvis Presley’s 71′ Barracuda, the Plymouth now is simply being auctioned off for what it is, a 71′ Cuda. Enthusiasts still will be able to pick up the nice auto for themselves, and it certainly will make an excellent auto even if Elvis didn’t ever sit behind the wheel.

The auction will be held at the Alamodome in San Antonio on March 21.

If you know racing, then you know Mario Andretti. Andretti was the only race car driver ever to win all professional race car events: the Indy 500, the Daytona 500, and the Formula One Driver’s Championship.

On November 12th, he was honored for his incredible achievements at the location of a brand new race-car museum in Philadelphia. On the that same day Andretti also was awarded the first ever “Spirit of Competition” award, which included a plaque adorned with a complete replica of a competition driving license of Andretti’s ultimate idol, Alberto Ascari.

The museum, the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum, features an extreme collection of rare automobile racing paraphernalia that had a severe impact on the history of racing. The museum also houses over 60 of the most important race cars in racing history in the entire world. It officially opened in June 2008, but the museum owners hope this particular event will bring more fans flocking to view the collection of displays.

As a tribute to Andretti, an old 1948 Hudson was painted to look like Andretti’s first American race car and was put on exhibit. The Hudson is outlined in a bright, fire engine red and is adorned with a white racing stripe and Andretti’s first racing number in bold white, the number 7.

The actual ceremony was presented by former Philadelphia Eagles coach Dick Vermeil, who also brought along an older sprint racing car that had been driven by his father years prior in certain Northern California races.

In addition to the Andretti race car model, another automotive was put on display at the same time- a racing auto built by a group of Philadelphia students for the Automotive X-Prize competition. The competition was held in February of 2008. Sponsored by Progressive auto insurance, the competition is dedicated to the production of a new energy efficient automobile.

Everyone should tip their hats in tribute to the great Mario Andretti and pay a visit at some point in time to the very interesting Philadelphia museum.

With summer upon us, a little vacation would be nice. Instead of heading to the beach or the lake, why not go to the British Motor Show instead? Held from July 23rd to August 3rd in London, this events looks to be one of the hottest activities car enthusiasts can attend.

For a mere £15, an adult can attend the motor show on a weekend day. However, if you want an even better bargain, adult tickets are only £10 on weekdays. You even can purchase a family package that includes 2 adult and 2 children tickets for £35 on the weekend (£25 on weekdays).

So, what do you get for that bargain price? According to the press release for the British Motor Show, “There is something for everyone with hundreds of cars on display, global premieres and tons of interactive features.” Plus, if you like music, you can purchase tickets for the British Motor Show Music Festival.

Almost every night of the motor show there is a different musical act. Choose the artist or artists you want to see in concert, purchase a ticket to that show (most are £30), and attend the motor show for free.
