You know it was an odd NASCAR race when the guys who finished third and tenth both think they were robbed of the victory. The named- at- the- last- minute Capital City 400 Presented By Virginia Is For Lovers (sigh) was as unusual as its name. All the strangeness certainly suited Kyle Busch just fine as he racked up his first Sprint Cup victory of the season.
Tony Stewart thought that he had the race wrapped up with 13 laps left to go, but a caution for debris

Martin Truex Jr. owned the first three quarters of the STP 400. Unfortunately for Truex, it’s that one final lap that really counts. And the winner of that one all-important lap was Denny Hamlin. Hamlin’s (pictured) second victory of the season was the 199th time that a #11 car has taken the checkered flag, a new NASCAR record. Truex finished second, followed by a red-hot Jimmie Johnson.

After a two-week layoff, NASCAR's Nationwide Series came roaring back to life on Friday night with the O'Reilly Auto Parts 300. Defending Nationwide Champion Ricky Stenhouse Jr. continued his quest for a repeat with a hard-fought victory. Stenhouse battled hard against eventual runner-up Paul Menard all day. He finally took the upper hand for good after a restart following a red flag with 23 laps to go.
Menard finished second, followed by Kasey Kahne, Denny Hamlin, and Austin Dillon, the young High Point University prodigy. That makes just two of the top five

It's been exactly 50 races since Greg Biffle last won a Sprint Cup race. That 18-month drought came to an end on Saturday when Biffle (pictured) beat out Jimmie Johnson to claim the checkered flag at the Samsung Mobile 500.
It looked like this was going to be Johnson's night. He looked like the best driver with the fastest car in the second half of the race and led 156 laps. But the lap he didn't lead- - the last lap -- was the one that really counted. Johnson and Biffle were so far

Kobalt Tools 400
by Ronald A. Rowe March 15th, 2012 | NASCAR, Sprint Cup Series
Unlike last year, when Tony Stewart waiting until the Cup Chase to really turn things up, the champ is starting strong in 2012. Stewart's car had more muscle than Jimmie Johnson's on the final restart of the Kobalt Tools 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. That victory marks 14 seasons in a row that Stewart has won at least one race, but never has he racked up a win so early in the year. Stewart's hot streak, extending back to last season, includes six wins in the
